Conflict in the workplace can take a toll on teamwork, productivity and morale and can have a negative impact on a team long after the original cause has been addressed.
All employees have self-interests as well as corporate responsibilities, this leads to competition for available resources and opportunities.

Managing interpersonal differences is essential to business and protects the emotional health of all employees and the business at large. In such an environment, where everyone contributes and “the whole is stronger than the sum of the parts”, it is likely that not everyone will be happy and motivated by the teams’ appreciation of individual contributions.

Organisational politics in particular, is a means of reconciling competing interests within the organisation and learning how to recognize and settle personal differences and work constructively as individuals and groups with a common goal, forms an integral part of maintaining an emotionally healthy workforce.

This objective of the workshop is to use adult learning principles involving the delegates in practical discussions and hands-on group activities to get the message across. The aim is to give delegates the knowledge, tools and the skills firstly to be able to identify and recognise a problem as a potential source of conflict before it happens. At the same time the aim is to build the delegates’ confidence to face and handle conflict in the workplace, by learning how to motivate staff to become better team players.
